Marilyn was born on July 18, 1938, in Tuscumbia, MO the daughter of Elmer and Tina (Barton) Green, who preceded in her death. She was married on February 22, 1964, to Bobby Ray Mauzy, who preceded her in death on January 12, 2018. They shared 53 years of marriage. Marilyn and Bobby were faithful members of Harvest Time Ministries in Holts Summit, MO. At church, Marilyn could be seen clapping her hands and swaying as she sang hymns. She truly had the joy in her heart. Marilyn accepted Jesus Christ as her savior, and we are comforted to know we will see her, and others who have gone before her, in eternity. When we see her, we will give her the hugs and kisses that we could not give her in the past few months.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. Marilyn was a crafter: ceramics, sewing, and painting were her favorite hobbies. She also loved reminiscing about old times and traveling. Marilyn loved feeding birds and gardening. She volunteered for the local food pantry until Alzheimer’s began stealing days and years from her. Marilyn was small but mighty and quite feisty…a true redhead. She had the gift of gab and proudly proclaimed it. A short visit with her could last for hours. Marilyn is no longer here, but she is not gone; she will be in our hearts until our Homecoming day.
Survivors include: one son, Duane Mauzy (Bev) of Holts Summit, MO; one daughter Kimberly Huse (Charles) of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Ralph Mauzy; one daughter, Christine Tucker; one granddaughter; five brothers, Dewey, Floyd, Donald, her twin- Marvin, and David; and three sisters, JoAnn, Mabel, and Mildred.
