Jean was born on October 25, 1923 in Syracuse, NY the daughter of LeRoy and Ruth Brower who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage in Syracuse, NY on September 21, 1946 to Melvin Maxwell who preceded her in death on September 12, 2009. She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Hartsburg, MO. Jean enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, collecting beanie babies, reading her Bible, magazines and paperback novels.
Survivors include: one son, Dan Maxwell of Holts Summit, MO; one daughter, Melinda Wilks (Ken) of Jefferson City, MO and several of her church friends. She was also preceded in death by one son, Scott Maxwell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home, Holts Summit, MO. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. David Ray officiating. Burial will be in Summit Memorial Park in Holts Summit, MO.
