Dawn was born on October 5, 1959 in Jefferson City, MO to Richard H. and Arlene E. Dennis (Locke) who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on March 3, 1978, in Holts Summit, MO to Dewey Jones. Dawn was full of laughter and made sure everyone was taken care of. Most of all, she loved kids. She owned Dawny’s daycare for 22 outstanding years from 1990-2012. Prior to having her own in home daycare, she worked at the Jefferson building and Truman building and truly enjoyed her time there.
Survivors include: her husband of 44 years, Dewey Jones; children Kevin (Cailey) Jones and Melissa (Cory) Anderson; grandchildren Caden Anderson, Adalynn Anderson, Kynedi Jones, Keagan Jones and Carrington Jones; nieces and nephews Richard “RD” Dennis, Shawn Dennis, Stephanie Dennis, Scott Dennis, Sheila Dennis, Millayna Hays and Carli Richter and many great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her two siblings, Richard Steven “Steve” Dennis and Kelly E. Dennis and stepfather Carl Powell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 10:00am-11:00am at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, MO. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. Burial will be at Summit Memorial Park Cemetery in Holts Summit, Missouri.
