Sumintra's heart found its truest expression in the roles of mother and grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, reflected in the lives of her children, Nirupa, Rajendra, Mahendra, Geeta, and Pratima. Each, in turn, gave her the cherished title of grandmother to Lisandra, Isha, Klesa, Robert, Brandan, Zara, Janna, Aniqa, Cyrus, and Alina.. She also found strength and camaraderie in her three sisters, Betty, Rena, and Golin, and a vast extended family comprising numerous nephews, nieces, on her husband’s side many many in-laws and their offsprings.
Educated through high school, Sumintra dedicated her life to the nurturing of her five children, ten grandchildren, and the community surrounding her. Her hands, skilled in the art of seamstress work, weaved not only fabrics but also the tapestry of her family's memories and traditions.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, leading her often to the mandir, where she found solace and purpose. Sumintra was a fountain of wisdom, always ready to lend an ear or provide advice to those in need. In her twilight years, even as a resident in an assisted facility, she became a confidante and counselor to many staff members who found comfort and guidance in her presence.
Sumintra's love for life extended to the simple pleasures of gardening and her avid enthusiasm for the Home Shopping Network, which brought a sparkle to her eyes. She poured her passion into these hobbies, which were as much a part of her as her compassionate soul.
Above all, Sumintra will be remembered as a loving, kind, and faith-filled pillar of her community. Her legacy is a testament to the power of love and the impact one person can have through living a life of dedication and grace. Sumintra's spirit will eternally resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind, a lasting memorial to a life genuinely and beautifully lived.
