Ramon “El Pupilo” Herrera

RAMON HERRERA, cariñosamente conocido como “El Pupilo”, nació en Marmolejos, Puerto Plata, República Dominicana, el 31 de agosto de 1928. Falleció el dos de abril de 2021. Descendiente de Felipa (Teté) Herrera y Ramon E. Vásquez.

Emigró a los Estados Unidos en el año 1964. Trabajó en la Feria Mundial en la ciudad de New York. Después trabajó en el Jewish Memorial Hospital y más luego, como conductor de taxi.

Ramon es sobrevivido por sus hijos Raysa, Rhina, Mayra, Roxanne, Gail, Cassandra y Ramoncito; trece nietos; 5 biznietos y dos tataranietas.

Ramon entregó su vida al Señor y fue algo que le dio un sentido más profundo a su vida. Los hijos de Ramon lo rodearon de amor y lo acompañaron hasta su último momento de vida.

El amaba a su familia incondicionalmente. Influenció la vida de muchos otros seres queridos y era una persona muy compasiva y querida por todas sus familias y amistades.

El era aficionado de la naturaleza, música, el béisbol, la lucha libre, historia mundial y un ávido lector.

RECONOCIMIENTO

RAMON HERRERA, affectionately known as “El Pupilo”, was born in Marmolejos, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, on August 31, 1928. He died on April 2, 2021. Descendant of Felipa (Tete) Herrera and Ramon E. Vásquez.

He immigrated to the United States in 1964. He worked at the World's Fair in New York City. He later he worked at the Jewish Memorial Hospital and later, as a taxi driver.

Ramon is survived by his children Raysa, Rhina, Mayra, Roxanne, Gail, Cassandra, and Ramoncito; thirteen grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ramon gave his life to the Lord and it was something that gave a deeper meaning to his life. Ramon's children surrounded him with love and accompanied him until the last moment of his life.

He loved his family unconditionally. He influenced the lives of many other loved ones and was a very compassionate person and loved by all of his families and friends.

He was a fan of nature, music, baseball, wrestling, world history, and an avid reader.
