It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our sister after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.
Myrna was an extraordinary woman with a heart of gold. She truly loved people, especially her family and the many friends and coworkers she met over the years. Myrna was an angel on earth and is now an angel with God.
Loving daughter of Frank and Doris Booth (predeceased), loving wife of the late Robert Wood, stepmother to Barbara MacKinnon, and Jennifer Wood; grandmother to Ian MacKinnon, Gwen MacKinnon, Brady Nebel, and Abigail Nebel. Loving sister to Jon Booth, Karen Moore (predeceased)(Paul), Chuck Booth (Carol), Cindy Sherman (Roger), Heather Carr (Jim). She will also be dearly missed by her friends, colleagues, and her fur babies, Louie and Benny.
Myrna was born in Toronto and raised in Orillia, Ontario. She attended Park Street Collegiate Institute, where she was the athlete of the year from grade 9 through grade 12. Myrna continued her education at the University of Windsor and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating, she worked at several hospitals, including Sick Kids Hospital. Myrna also served as a nurse with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves as a Lieutenant Commander.
Myrna continued her nursing career after moving to Florida, at Cedars Hospital in Miami, and finishing her career with Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.
A celebration of Myrna’s life will be held on December 3, 2021, 6 PM gathering, 7 PM service, at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home, 2401 S University Dr., Davie, Florida, 33324.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or Debbie’s Dream Foundation.
