Mary Jane Edwards

Mary Jane was born March 16, 1924 to the late Isaac Peart  & Urselina Briggs in Carnie, Saint Ann, Jamaica. Mary was born a twin with Alexander Peart and they were the youngest of eight children. Mary migrated from Jamaica to Sheffield England in 1957. She later became a nurse at Nettheredge Hospital where she worked until she immigrated to the USA in 1969.  She lived in Brooklyn, NY and worked as a nurse for Jewish Home and Hospital where she met and married her deceased husband Oscar Edwards. She moved to Queens, NY around 1977 where she took on a second full-time job as a nurse at Peninsula Hospital. Mary retired and moved to Miramar, Florida in 1989 where she enjoyed many years with her siblings. Mary enjoyed life; she was a firecracker and the life of the party. She loved to play dominoes, dance and have fun. She was a hard worker and a strong woman that left a lasting impression on everyone that met her.

 Mary Jane leaves behind her daughter Delores Holcombe and son-in-law, Roosevelt Holcombe. Grandchildren: Richard Godfrey, Simon Godfrey, Marlon Grant, Andrea Alleyne and Tania Grant. Great Grandchildren: Christopher Garland. Domanike King, Raphael Godfrey, Kai Grant, Isaiah Phillips, Jeremiah Phillips, Kodi Grant, Gabrielle Phillips and Rachel Godfrey. Great-Great Grandchildren: Aaliya King, Kayden Godfrey Domanike King Jr., McKenzie King, and Dominic King. Sibling: Elliott Peart Nieces, Marcia Peart and Andrea Anderson. Nephews, David Peart and Anthony Peart. A host of grand nieces, nephews, family members.
