From the age of 15, Lorraine was singing opera concertos. She later went on to Indiana University Bloomington where she pursued her passion for music. In the '70s, she moved to Miami and became a music teacher at Benjamin Franklin.
Lorraine married the late Richard Ferguson, who was a beacon of support and love through her many endeavors. Lorraine was a prominent member within the catholic community and served as a cantor at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Working alongside her husband at the Beltmann Group, she quickly became an influential figure within the company.
As a new member of CREW-Miami, she won several awards including "Mentor of the Year." In 2013, she was featured in the Sun-Sentinel for being a stage-four breast cancer survivor of 20-years. Lorraine was a compassionate woman who sacrificed for those she loved and those she barely knew. She was an inspiration to all.
Lorraine is survived by her mother Jeannette Chabot, her brother Lawrence Chabot, her three children Keleigh, Michael and Amy, and two grandchildren Ella and Cecilia.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, April 8 at 10 am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Lighthouse Point, Florida. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the memory of Lorraine Ferguson to The American Brain Tumor Association and The American Cancer Society.
