Dorothy was born on March 18, 1929, in Wadesboro, North Carolina, daughter of the late Willie Kern and Annie Hasty Cole.
Dorothy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was wise and quick witted, and enjoyed the many parties, texts and phone calls shared between her and her family. Dorothy was an avid reader, loved Jeopardy and loved college basketball. Dorothy was a dedicated Marine Corps spouse, who loved her country. A flag was flown at the Marine Corps base in North Carolina in her honor as a tribute to her. Dorothy worked for Dale Laboratories as office manager for over 20 years and at Memorial Hospital for 3 years, where she brightened everyone’s day. She brought a smile to everyone that knew her.
