Walk through Journey Of Dr. Dipak M. Mankame
Dr. Dipak was born to Meghnath and Indira Mankame on January 21, 1953 in Satpati, a small fishing village along the western coast of India. The Mankame family was primarily jewellers by profession. Coming from a family of jewelers, he possessed a keen eye for detail and a natural talent for working with his hands. These artistic skills, undoubtedly came in hand throughout his career in dentistry.
He went to elementary school in his village, and aced high school in a nearby town called Palghar. He graduated from junior college and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from Nair Dental College and hospital in Mumbai(Bombay) in 1976.
He got his opportunity to come to the United States in 1977, to complete his D.D.S from NYU.
He married his sweetheart, Dipti, on July 1, 1979 in Mumbai. She was then able to join him in the U.S.
His guide and mentor, Dr Howard Moskowitz offered invaluable guidance that launched his successful career in South Florida. Dr. Moskowitz and his family’s kindness and support has played a pivotal role in shaping Dr. Dipak Mankame’s life.
Dr. Mankame's dedication to his craft was further emphasized by his achievement of Fellowship in the American College of Dentists (FAGD) in 1987. He was a lifelong learner, constantly seeking out new advancements and techniques in dentistry to better serve his patients.
Dr. Mankame was more than just a skilled dentist; he was an amazing one. His dedication to his patients' well-being shone through everything he did. But his passion extended far beyond the walls of his practice. He believed in giving back, and made a significant impact through his Sai Charitable Trust.
Dr. Mankame's brainchild was his mobile dental clinic that brought dental care and education directly to the villages in India. He understood the importance of preventive care, especially for children. As he'd often say, "You need to start with the kids when they are young so they will learn and keep themselves healthy." His dedication wasn't limited to children; Dr. Mankame also extended his care to the elderly in his community.
Aside from his passion in dentistry and service, Dr. Dipak enjoyed listening to classic Bollywood songs. He loved to watch Kung fu, Bruce Lee, and Jackie Chan movies. He was a champion at playing Carrom in his dental school in Mumbai.
Dr. Dipak was a spiritual man and loved engaging in devotional songs and conversations. He was a staunch devotee of Lord Rama. His Guru, Sri Sathya Sai Baba was his inspiration to live by example. “Service to Man is Service to God. Engage yourself in service activity. Consider Social service as a Service to God. This is the best way to earn God’s love”, was his motto.
Dr. Dipak Mankame leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and a passion for helping others. He will be remembered with fondness and a grateful heart.
