It was an excellent experience to have Daena as a Director. She can't be duplicated, truly one of a kind. Heaven gained an Angel. I will hold on to the great memories of Daena. As I sit here, with a heavy heart, I'm flooded with memories of the time we shared together. Daena your passing has left a void that seems impossible to fill. I want to take this moment to honor you and the incredible person you were. You were not just my best friend; you were my forever friend, my sister, the one I called Queen and a beacon of light in my life. The way you approached life, even when faced with the unimaginable, was awe-inspiring. Your strength during your battle showed me what true courage looks like. I remember your smile, a smile that could make any gloomy day feel like the brightest one.

Now that you’re no longer with us, I realize how much you taught me - to cherish the small moments, to laugh heartily, and to stand strong in adversity. Your legacy is not just in the time you spent here but in the love and wisdom you imparted to all who had the privilege of knowing you.

I find comfort in knowing that you are now free from pain. The stars in the night sky seem to shine a little brighter, and I like to believe it’s because you are among them, watching over us.

While there is sadness, there's also gratitude. I am so grateful for the time we had together. The bond we shared is a treasure I will hold close to my heart for the rest of my life. As I continue on this journey without you by my side, I promise to honor your memory by living with the same grace and compassion you embodied.

I would like to extend my sincerest condolences on behalf of my family and me. My interactions with Daena were always a learning experience, as I had a lot of questions while adjusting to the OPA's controlled chaos. She was always patient, kind, helpful, and meticulous in her answers and explanations of policy and procedures. She was also easy to talk with on a variety of topics, specifically her tuna salad recipe! I will miss her personally and professionally, but I share with you this thought: Energy, like love, never dissipates; it merely changes form. Be blessed and comforted in your time of bereavement and feel the healing energy being sent your way by all the lives she has touched. ~Peace~

So very Sorry for your loss. While I only knew Daena from work, I found her to be an extraordinary individual with a heart of gold. She was truly a wonderful person who was impossible not to like.  She will be missed!  Please allow me to share this poem with you. In my time of need, it brought me comfort. Hopefully, in time, it will do the same for you.
