Tom was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Frederick and Hazel Harring. He enjoyed camping, Captain Sundae visits, and spending time with his family and friends. Tom was a sports fan, watching football, baseball, and golf while completing the daily crossword puzzles. He served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He retired from CSX after 42 years of faithful service.
Thomas was preceded in death by: his wife, Helen (McCormick) Harring of 56 loving years; his son; Jay Harring; brothers, James, Gerald and William Harring.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick (Kim) Harring, Karen (Douglas) Turkstra, and Scott (Susan) Harring; his 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and better friend Betty Dykstra.
Tom will be greatly missed by all, especially his jokes that were sure to bring a smile. Family will welcome visitors on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 6-8pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday October 11th, 2022 at 10am at Holy Redeemer Church 2700 Baldwin St, Jenison, MI 49428 where Tom was a founding member, with a visitation prior at 9am.
