Shawn Lee Marroquin

Shawn was a young man who loved life. He enjoyed skateboarding, his BMX dirt bike and hanging out with his friends. He loved to write poetry and enjoyed his job working at Big Apple Bagels in Holland.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Don and Alma Schaafsma, John Weenum; by his uncle John Bronson Sr. Shawn is survived by his parents/grandparents Joe and Lori Marroquin, his mother Rachel Marroquin, his brothers Justin (Angelica) Marroquin and Jordan (Jamie) Marroquin. He is also survived by his aunt Angela Castillo, uncle Addam Marroquin; cousins Mariah Castillo, Marissa Castillo and Maximus Ramirez; nephews Uriah and Xander Marroquin plus more aunts, uncles and cousins. Shawn is also survived by his long-time girlfriend Kristy Timm.

A service to celebrate Shawn’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, in the chapel of Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 994 Paw Paw Dr., Holland, MI 49423. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Carlos T. Calvo will be presiding.
