Robert Wesley Gordon

Robert served in the US Navy in Vietnam and was a lifetime member of the Holland VFW post. He serviced as post commander multiple times and was also a member of the VFW Honor Guard. Robert was very involved in the happenings of the VFW, and was even bar manager.

Robert loved his family very much, and his children and grandchildren were his life. He was always willing to help anyone who needed a hand and enjoyed giving of his time to others. He had a very strong work ethic that stayed with him all his life. After his retirement, he went on to start Double G Taxi service, which he was very proud to have accomplished.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Laura; his brother and sister; as well as his daughter Melissa Gordon.

Robert is survived by his son Jason (Jennifer) Gordon; daughters Pearl Elizabeth (Rafael) Alvarado; Lucia Ruby Velazquez; sons Charles Daniel Gordon; John Thomas “Magoo” Gordon; Ryan Scott Gordon; and honorary son Daniel Ridlington. He is also survived by grandchildren Robert Large, Austin Hopkins, Kelsie Jo Hopkins; as well as Rebecca, Stacie, Jaylin, Eli, Julian and Jordan (Puerto Rican 1 and 2), Victor, Jazmin, Christopher James, and Malysa. Also surviving are Robert’s sisters Sue, Karen, Cindy, and Darla.

A visitation for Robert will be held at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, 49424 on Tuesday, September 12 from 12:00 PM with burial with full military honors following at Pilgrim Home Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Robert's family invites you to join them at the Holland VFW post for a luncheon following the graveside service - 175 W. 8th St, Holland, MI 49423.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Robert’s family to assist with funeral expenses.
