Born to a family of nine children, Reva grew up to be a devoted, independent, and humble woman who loved her family dearly. She was a woman of faith and a charter member of Haven Christian Reformed Church. She cherished time spent with her family and enjoyed watching them grow up through the years. She enjoyed staying active, even in her nineties, by walking daily, spending time with friends, and watching her beloved Detroit Tigers.
Reva was preceded in death by her husband Roger Nykamp in 1985 and 6 siblings.
She is survived by children Thomas (Tracy) Nykamp and Philip Nykamp; grandchildren Tim (Laurie), Kelsey, Michael (Alicia), Austin, and India; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn (Roger) Brandson and Geneva Berkompas; and sisters-in-law Dolores Slagh and Arlene Slagh. Reva is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A visitation for Reva will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 6-8 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, MI 49424. A funeral service will be held at Haven Christian Reformed Church - 541 Alice St. Zeeland, MI 49464 on Thursday, October 31 at 12 PM with an hour of visitation prior. A private family graveside service will follow.
