Born in Rothbury, MI, December 30, 1923, to John and Lena Boer, Nancy took life seriously, was ambitious and hardworking. Through her generosity, she was always willing to help someone. She spent many hours knitting caps for missionary children. During WWII, she worked as “Rosie the Riveter”, and later worked several years in healthcare and manufacturing. In 1979 she married James Van Andel, and they traveled extensively until his death in 1995. Nancy was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband James Van Andel, brothers Paul Boer, Marinus Boer, and Louis Boer, sisters Jennie Kroes, Dena Boer, Lena Marsman, and Marie Kooiman.
She is survived by her sisters Ella Groman of Holland, and Marjorie Boer of Fort Smith, AR, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Friday, September 16, 2016, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, MI 49424.
Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00pm, one hour prior to the service, at Lakeshore Memorial Services.
