Millie was born on May 31, 1928 to John and Mabel (Posma) Van Den Beldt on the family farm weighing 3 pounds. She was one of eight children. She worked at General Electric for 33 years and was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and First United Methodist Church of Holland.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Charles Shidler and Robert Driy; six siblings Shirley (John) Jacobs, Floyd (Ann) Van Den Beldt, Nelson Van Den Beldt, Donald Van Den Beldt, Justin Van Den Beldt and Mike (Marilyn) Van Den Beldt, a granddaughter Kelly Driy, son-in-law Wade Lewis, and Bill and Marilyn Patterson. She is survived by her blended family of children Larry and Barb Driy (Kentwood), Wanda Lewis (Holland), Ed and Marlene Shidler (Saugatuck); grandchildren Matthew and Shannon Driy (South Carolina), Jane and Bruce Patterson (Holland), Bonnie and Dave Shidler (Holland), Sue and Rick Shidler (Saugatuck), Chuck Shidler (Saugatuck), Brent and Amanda Patterson (Holland), Brad and Donna Patterson (Holland), Terri and Tom Van Lentes (Holland). Millie is also survived by great-grandchildren Kowen, Saxon, Sarah, Julie, Grant, Gavin, Morgan (Kyle), Mike, Tyler, Kyle, Mark (Katie) and Mary (Jason) and great-great grandchildren Tanner and Khloe. She is also survived by her sister Janet and Bernard Kool (Grand Haven), Sister-in-laws Alma Van Den Beldt (Zeeland) and Lorraine Van Den Beldt (Holland) and many nieces and nephews along with her best friend Marge Ryzenga. A funeral service will be 1pm, Saturday, August 4 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St, Holland, Michigan, Rev Brad Bartelmay officiating. Visitation will be 11am - 1pm prior to the service, lunch will be provided. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
