Mark was born in Grand Rapids, MI December 8, 1957 to Willis Sr. and Nordeen (VanderWal) Woodwyk. He was a lifelong resident of West Michigan and served in the United States Army National Guard.
He worked as an electrician for most of his life, recently retiring from Altron Automation. Mark was true outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. More importantly, he will be remembered for his love of family, for wearing his heart on his sleeve, and willingness to help anyone at any time.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding him in death was his father Willis Woodwyk Sr; and his parents-in-law Arnold and Blanche LaCombe.
He is survived by his wife Leslie of 42 years; daughter Amber (Tim) Melton; son Beau Woodwyk; granddaughter Hayley; mother Nordeen (Irv) Craft; siblings Rick (Xiaomei) Woodwyk, Deb (Kevin) Herr, Bill Woodwyk Jr., and Kim (Steve) Hough; in-laws Lark LaCombe Roberts, Lugene (Paul) Vanderkooi, Laura Hastings, and Spike (Jody) LaCombe; special hunting buddy, Randy VanderWal; several stepsisters, a step brother, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many extended family and friends.
A gathering to celebrate Mark’s life will be Saturday, July 6, 2024 beginning at 1pm with Military Honors at District 5 Schoolhouse, 9354 Port Sheldon St., Borculo, MI
