Born in 1936, in East Jordan, Michigan, Lou married the love of her life, Ron in 1957. Together, Lou and Ron shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventure, and devotion to one another. They truly loved the years they wintered together in Florida, where they enjoyed golfing with friends and attending countless local concerts. They especially cherished the time and laughs they spent with lifelong friends Mary Ann and Solon Dewitt.
Lou will be remembered for her quick wit, warm hugs, and fun-loving spirit. She had a gift for making people feel loved and welcomed, always ready with a smile, a kind word, or a playful joke. She treasured time with her family and embraced every adventure that came her way. In 2022, Lou moved to Appledorn North, where she quickly made new friends. She spent many joyful hours playing cards, participating in activities, and loved attending the live music concerts provided by Appledorn.
Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ron, her brothers Jake, Pete, and Jack, and her brother-in-law Stan.
She is survived by her children Doug (Judy) Bareman and Lori (Brian) Holt, and by her grandchildren: Stephanie (Michael) DuMez, Jeff Bareman, and Samantha (Matthew) Lybarger. Lou was also blessed with eleven great- grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy. She is lovingly remembered by her extended family, including in-laws Phyllis and Robert Dykstra, Janice and Paul VanDyke, Sandy and Charles DenUyl, and Alyce Bareman.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6b-8
