Linda Sue (Susie) Haiker, age 62, passed away peacefully September 8, 2021 after a life long battle with cancer. Predeceased by both parents Orville Adkins Jr., and Carol Adkins Deem. Survived by her husband of 30 years Bill and loving Sister Debbie (Eric) Bull and two adorable fur babies, Ruby and Cici. Also, survived by many caring aunts, uncles, as well as cousins and so many close friends who helped support her and lift her up via phone calls, texts, FaceTime, and games online since moving to Michigan after spending 30+ years in Columbus, Ohio.
Thankfully, Linda was able to retire at age 54 from the US Postal Service, and enjoyed many years pursuing some of her favorite activities including gardening, volunteering for a few years with the Sharon Woods Civic Association where she served as the chairman of the Beautification Committee, walking dogs, and spending several years as snowbirds, where she enjoyed golfing and kayaking.
If you knew Linda well, you know that she had a great sense of humor, which she maintained to the end, a love for her fur babies and a collection of bunnies that outnumbered what most women would have in shoes!
Linda did not want a service. No need for anyone to travel. She would prefer everyone stay safe and healthy, and in lieu of flowers, she would prefer you make a donation to your favorite local animal shelter or The Turban Project, a non-profit organization started by a friend in Ohio. The Turban Project, 7871 Ridge Road, Frazeysburg, OH 43822.
Lind was able to fight cancer so many times because of Jesus in her life. She was so grateful for all the cards and support from Methodist Church of the Dunes.
If she could have had music played with her memorial photos, her two favorite song selections would be the piano version of Rachel Platten’s, This is Your Fight Song, and I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me.
