Lee was born to Arthur and Letitica Hower on September 22nd, 1935 in West Branch, MI. Lee graduated from Holland High in 1953 and then attended Grand Rapids Community College. Lee proudly served in the U.S. Army and served overseas in England and Germany. He worked at Townsend and Bottum for 20 years. Lee was the owner of Industrial Pipe Plumbing Supply Company for 20 years, and West Michigan Car Sales. He loved to be at the lake and boating and volunteering at Bibles for Mexico. Lee really loved to go to garage sales and putting on garage sales with his friend Sharon. He fought very hard the past 3 years with cancer, with Covid-19 finally taking him. Over the past 3 1/2 - 4 years, Lee developed a very strong relationship with Pastor Gary Spykerman of Parkside Bible Church in Holland.
Lee is survived by: his children, Steven L. Hower, Pat (Ron) Hower-Pero, Dan (Kim) Hower; special friend of 25 years, Sharon Harrison and her children, Robin Harrison and R.B. Harrison; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by: his father, Arthur Hower; mother, Letitica Hower; and sister, Patricia Elzinga.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday Dec 11th, 2021 at Parkside Bible Church 14461 James St. Holland, MI. There will be a lunch and a time of fellowship directly following the service.
There will be a memorial marker placed at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Honor of Lee’s service and dedication to our country.
