Jack was born in Grand Rapids to Henry and Leola Marcusse. He attended Catholic Central High School and went on to earn his bachelors and MBA from University of Michigan. Jack married Nancy (Porter) on May 17, 1980. They raised their three children in Holland, Michigan. Jack worked at Haworth as tax manager.
Jack could often be found working outside. He kept a beautiful yard and he was proud of his vegetable garden. Jack loved children. He and Nancy taught the 2-3 year old Sunday School class at Rose Park Reformed Church for many years.
A quiet but mischievous man, we all hope that his colleagues remember his office pranks fondly. In his retirement, Jack volunteered with the local SCORE group, offering mentoring and support to local entrepreneurs.
Jack selflessly loved and supported his wife and children and encouraged them to pursue their passions. He was proud of his children’s accomplishments and was particularly proud to see all three of his children graduate from University of Michigan. He enjoyed traveling to visit his children and grandchildren. Jack Marcusse was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; children, Maureen (Jeff) Benton, Jordan (Katie) Marcusse (beloved grandchildren Beatrix and Theodore Marcusse), Molly Marcusse and partner Peter Parolin; siblings, Jim (Jill) Marcusse, Tom (Pam) Marcusse, Sue (Craig) Cook, Mary (Dave) Lager; father-in-law Aaron Porter; in-laws Sharon (Francis) Putvin, and John (Kristi) Porter; many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and extended family and friends.
