Joan Overway

Joan was a lifelong member of Pillar Church. She had a love for music, and her family has fond memories of her always singing and humming, especially her hymns. You would frequently find her knitting and lovingly making beautiful afghans for her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan actively enjoyed sporting events, camping, and traveling with her husband and friends. She worked many years for West Ottawa Public Schools, until her retirement.

Joan is survived by her husband, Eugene, sharing 65 years of marriage together; son, David (Pat) Overway; daughters, Linda (Don) VanKampen, and Patti (Bob) Freers; grandchildren, Jon (Kristin) Overway, Lisa (Bryan) Underwood, Jim (Jennifer) Overway, Marc (Jana) Overway, Tim (Megan) VanKampen, Ryan (Lacey) VanKampen, Jeff Freers, Scott (Chelsea) Freers, and Jaimie Freers; 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00am, Monday, November 23, 2015, at Pillar Church, 57 E. 10th Street, Holland, MI.

Visiting hours will be held from 2:00-6:00pm, Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, Holland, MI.

Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland and the Alzheimer’s Association.
