Janice Eileen Simmons

Janice was born on April 20th, 1942 to Charles and Lydia Hayes, in Douglas Michigan. In 1974 she married the love of her life, Roy Simmons. Janice retired from Magna Donley after 18 years. Janice loved to spend her time having dinner at the VFW, American Legion, and Moose Lodge. She was a people person and enjoyed playing cards. Loving, Sweet and kind was her nature-always greeting everyone with a smile. She was a loving wife, wonderful mom, and a kind, thoughtful and special grandma. Janice will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her and was loved by her.

Janice is survived by: her husband of 50 years, Roy Simmons; daughter, Janet (Rick) Berghorst; son, Dean Day; 2 special daughters, Brandi (David) Halfer and Mandy (Rick) Devree; grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Slager, Ryan Slager, Eric (Victoria) Day, and Ashley Day; great grandchildren, Maria (boyfriend Vinny), Erika (boyfriend Jacob), Nick, Timmy, Sylus, Cooper, and Evihn; brothers, Keith (Diane) Hayes, Chuck (Kaylynn) Hayes, and Ron Hayes; brother-in-laws, Jim (Lynda) Simmons, Dale (Pam) Simmons; sister-in-law, Betty (Tom) Billings; and lots of nieces and nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by: her mother, Lydia Hayes; father, Charles Hayes; brother, James Hayes; an infant son, Roy Scott Simmons; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Simmons.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
