Dorotea Sosa

Dorotea “Dorothy” Sosa was born on February 6th, 1951 in Alice, Texas to Domingo and Esperanza Ramirez.

Dorothy moved from Texas to Holland as a young girl. She attended West Ottawa High School where she met Christina Sosa. Through this friendship is where she met the love of her life, Lino Sosa,

Dorothy and Lino fell in love, married on Aug. 2nd, 1968, had 3 children and shared 46 beautiful years of marriage before Lino passed on Sept. 1st, 2014.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, g-ma, old grandma (great grandma), and had a strong faith in the Lord. Her joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids. After her husband went to be with the Lord, she met new friends who she grew close to. She was a part of a Red Hat Club that she just loved. She loved her caregiver Sue Starnes who we were blessed to have help take care of her.

Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memory: 3 children, John (Shirley) Sosa, Bernie (Roxy Pardue) Sosa, and Samantha (Jessie) Moore; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Graciela “Gracie” Trevino, Maria “Lupe” (Jessie) Pena, and Carmen Vera; 1 brother, Domingo (Virginia) Ramirez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Lino Sosa; her parents, Domingo and Esperanza; 2 brothers, Hipolito and Reuben.

A visitation for Dorotea will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial, 11939 James St, Holland, Michigan 49424, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
