Doris attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and involved in quilting at the church. She participated in a mission trip to Vancouver. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, ceramics, but loved her family best of all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1977, son-in-law Dick Walters, sister Betty De Geus, sister-in-law Jimmie Moore, and a granddaughter.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 1:00pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, in Holland. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street, in Holland.
