Dawn Meyer

"Dawn Joyce Meyer of Holland, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the age of 88. Dawn was born on January 1, 1931 in Oshkosh, WI to Daniel and Lauraine Peppler. She was preceded in death by her sister and her brother in law, Ardiss and Chuck (Merle) Smerling, and three children: Jana Gae Meyer, Richard Walter Meyer, and Jay Lance Meyer. Dawn was a proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed her family of friends at Waverly Meadows Apartments, where she played Tuesday night bingo, modeled in fashion shows, and visited with her family. Her friends at Waverly Meadows took good care of her over the years, and she loved them all dearly. She enjoyed singing and dancing; she spent time singing on the radio and teaching dance in her younger years. She also liked spending her time watching game shows and TV dramas. She was a garage sale guru, and nobody could squeeze a nickel and get a dollar out of something better than she could. Dawn loved having her children and grandchildren from all across the country to come and visit with her. She was able to spend time with all of her children over the span of a couple weeks this past year, and she was honored to be able to attend her grandson’s wedding at the beginning of this month. Dawn is survived by her children: Diane Mutter in Florida, Lorinda and Randall King in Wisconsin, Michael and Dolores Smerling in Wisconsin, Dann and Denise Baugh in Michigan, and Kurt Meyer in California, along with twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren. The sun has lost one of its special rays, and she will be always loved and dearly missed.”
