David was born on March 21,1930 in Buckingham, IL to David Sr. and Zevla (Essington) Bowers.
He worked hard all his life; he owned Bowers farm service for 25 years, receiving top salesman honors. He sold farm air vent system, mostly for pigs, invented an improvement to the equipment. He Learn to fly in 1969 and owned his plane.
He played hard too, as a member of the Wolverine Camper Club,they went anywhere a truck could go. Took trips from Alaska to Hawaii; later at three worlds(FL) and Leisure Acres in Sebring, FL.; most of these places were shared friends from Casco twp. They made an impression on FL. Joining the many “Crazy theme Parties & Parades”, rode 3 wheel bikes to DQ and went to early bird dinners, everywhere.
David could be found skeet shooting or hitting clay pigeons at Fennville’s rod n gun club. He won the senior vet award at the American trap shoot in Ohio. Dave, shooting perfectly finally took top honors; after going 3 rounds with the top 3 finalists in shoot out.
Dave enjoyed hunting and went many adventures with friends; taking him to new places, moose in Canada, elks, mule deer in Montana and Wyoming, turkey, and deer around MI. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at their eagle lake summer house. Many of these were in the company of a grandkid or two. He could clean fish so fast, only one rule, 9" or you'd hear it.
He never passed up a sweet treat, always wanted a hug from the girls, young or old, and was known to tell you exactly how he felt or how to do something the right way. He is already missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Gwen Bowers; grandsons Jeremiah Shonk and Zade Groenendyk; and father-in-law, Richard Sutton.
David is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen J. Bowers; and his blended family; children Marlene Crippin, Wally (Lisa) Rediess, Bob (Julie) Thomas, Teri (Tom) Morgan, Mitzi Grumm, Brett Grumm, Carla (Arlyn) Zoet, Linda (Arthur) Limon; many more grandchildren, great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
A private graveside service will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens with entombment to follow.
