Dale McConnell

Dale Kent McConnell, age 73, of Holland passed away way too soon due to his battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his son Jeremy McConnell; parents George and Elva McConnell; brother Lynn McConnell; brother and sister-in-law Doug and Karen McConnell; sister Mary Lou Slagel; mother-in-law Louise Secondine. He is survived by his wife Donna McConnell; daughter Tracey (Ted) McConnell; daughter-in-law Amoreena Bell; grandsons Nicholas and Zachary Godi; brother Steve (Paula) McConnell; sister Shirley (Ron) Morrow; sister-in-law Glenda (Scott) Smith; very special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Dale attended Amarillo College, Texas Tech University and The University of Evansville. He received his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. On April 1st, 1972, Dale moved his family to Holland, MI and instantly felt at home in this town and with the many friends they made. Dale always seemed to think of others, do for them and make positive memories for the family. His family and friends were a treasure to him. He made our lives worth so much more, we will miss him but he will always be with us because of his caring and kindness. Dale will always remain in our hearts. He was a good man and loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He also enjoyed Engineering, designing, creating, woodworking, pheasant hunting, and 30 years of vacationing in Mexico and the Caribbean. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St. in Holland.
