Barry Bos

A private memorial service is planned to be held by Barry’s family.

Barry was born in Zeeland on March 26, 1949 and grew up in Holland and later Beaverdam, where he attended a one room school until junior high. He graduated from Zeeland High School in 1968. Barry’s love for art lead him to attend Kendall School of Art and Design in Grand Rapids while working for Herman Miller at night. He used his art and design skills to pursue a lifetime of fine arts. His generosity and continuing support of charitable organizations and needy individuals was widely known and appreciated. Barry spent time in Hawaii, California, Florida and New York before settling in Holland to be near family. He enjoyed and insisted on living life on his terms and in constant pursuit of his dream of being recognized as an artist and illustrator.

Barry is survived by his sister, Bette Morris of Kalamazoo, and brothers Dave Bos of Borculo, and Bruce Bos of Silver City, New Mexico. Barry was preceded in death by his parents Harley and Rose Bos of Beaverdam, sister Barbara Lamer of Holland, and brother Jeffery Bos of Holland.

Barry’s family would like to express their gratitude to Sarah Kendziorski and the staff of Allegan County Community Mental Health ACT team for their outstanding care and service to Barry. Gratitude is also expressed to a special care giver Vince Modert and the staff at Medilodge of Holland for the kind care and support of Barry during his illness.
