William Riley Rose

Bill was retired from DuPont, where he worked for 42 years, and had been an active member of Red Bank Baptist Church for 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Inez Rose of Centre, AL and sister, Evelyn Inman of Tiftonia, TN.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hilma Cleland Rose, son, Byron (Ginger) Rose of Rock Springs, GA, son Phil (Carol) Rose, daughter, Carole (Bill) Ramage of Russell Springs, KY and son Benny (Caroline) Rose of Birmingham, AL, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and sister, Jane Sterling of Greenwood, SC.

Bill was a strong Christian who was always looking for an opportunity to share his faith with family, friends and strangers alike. PawPaw will be greatly missed and we will all be forever influenced by his Christian walk and life.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 1 until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 27, at the North Chapel with the Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. Bill Ramage officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Members of Bill’s sunday school class of Red Bank Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 4000 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415.
