William "Bill" H. Givens, 66, of Hixson, TN, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 in a local hospital. Bill was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and was a leader in Troop 172 of the Boy Scouts of America. Bill was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and remained an avid Vols fan.
Bill was preceeded in death by his parents, Ruth Malarcher and Leslie Lee Givens. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Victoria Heckemeyer Givens; son Matthew Hart (Mary) Givens; 3 grandchildren, Matthew Jackson, and Lillian Givens; 3 brothers, Robert (Connie) Givens, Gregory (Diane) Givens and Steve (LuAnne) Givens; 2 sisters, Nancy (Tony) St. Charles and Lisa Beasley; aunt. Lucile Malaracher; and a close family friend, John Hasek.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with Father Charlie Burton officiating. Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Gardens East. The family will received friends from 5-7p.m. today with a rosary service at 7:30p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
