William Lee Galbraith, Jr., of Chattanooga died Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home. He was born December 9, 1941 in Chattanooga. His mother, Mildred Hale, father, William L. Galbraith, Sr., sisters, Roberta Brown, and Charlotte Anderson, brothers, Jimmy Hale, John Hale and Samuel Hale, preceded him in death.
He retired from DuPont after 37 years of service and later he worked for H & R Block and volunteered at the Tennessee aquarium. He was an avid fisherman and spent the last 25 years living on the Tennessee River.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pat Galbraith, daughters, Lee Ann Thompson Tanguis (Ken), Sharon Bookout (Gene), grandchildren, Matthew Bookout (Megan), and Maci McKinney (Taylor) great grandchildren, Bentley, Jayde, Maverick, Ellie, and Maddie, brother, Thomas Galbraith, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Thursday, February 17 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 Wednesday evening.
