Hoppy was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had lived in Florida before moving to Cleveland eight years ago. He was retired from Seminole County as Supervisor of Road Crew after 28 years of service. He attended River of Live Holiness Church in Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James, Bob and LeRoy Cassidy and a sister Debbie Cassidy.
Hoppy is survived by a son, William T. (Jennifer) Cassidy, III and his children, Kristy, Keifer and Cody; sisters, Carrie (Larry) Lowe of Ringgold, GA, Brenda (Billy) Bice of Gerutli-Laager, TN, Linda (Jack) Doyle of Red Bank, TN; a special niece and caretaker, Belinda (Robert) Ledford of Cleveland, TN and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday, January 30 and from 12 until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Porter and Pastor Delbert Layne officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
