He was born in Knoxville, TN to the late William Theodore and Deane Wallace Brown. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Alex Bales.
Bill attended schools in Clinton, TN and graduated high school from Tennessee Military Institute in Sweetwater, TN. He attended UTK and completed an apprenticeship as an electrician, journeyman and master.
A member of IBEW Local 175 for many years, he was an electrician of 50 years, who spent most of his career at TVA in the southeast part of Tennessee.
Bill was a brilliant man and could do anything. He was a bit of a nomad and loved traveling to different places. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his daughters, Amy (Justin) Eaton, Tabitha Swanks; grandchildren, Ashley and Veronica Mattox, Austin (Annalea) Eaton; great-grandchildren, June Vann, Juliann Lawrence, Delilah Mattox, Allison Eaton; sisters, Bunnie (David) Ison, Ann (Fred) Thomason; dearly loved girlfriend, Barbie Hall; friend who was like a brother, Phil Harber and his beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 5, 2023 in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A celebration of life for Bill will be held at 5:00 pm, Sunday, November 5, 2023 in the chapel with Justin Grunewald officiating.
