I cannot believe the world is without Uncle Bill. His laugh and presence is irreplaceable. I will always remember riding on the bumper tubes on Watts Bar Lake with him at the wheel of the boat; what a ride he gave us. I'll always remember his speedo bikini bathing suit (sorry, Amy:) he wore at the lake, and so many other childhood memories with Uncle Bill in them. More than anything though, I will remember his generous heart. He cared for his family. He cared for his daughters and grandchildren. He cared for his sisters. He cared for my mom when he himself was also battling cancer. I will remember you, Uncle Bill-- forever I will. May you ride motorcycles with the angles. Rest in peace.

I met Bill around 1969 at Clinton Junior High School. We were in a school play called, “Why Not Join the Giraffes,” in which Bill played the part of “Yak,” a handsome “hippie.”

Bill was one of the smartest people I knew, and yet he maintained a sense of humor and zest for life.

One thing that stands out in my 50 year old memories was that his family meant everything to him. He always spoke so highly of his parents, and of his sisters, Bunnie and Ann. He dearly loved you, and was very proud of your accomplishments. 

People can change a lot in 50 years, but the pictures shared on this post confirm that Bill’s zest for life never faded, nor did his deep devotion to his family.

May the Lord grant you consolation and peace in this great loss.

Bunny, Ann and family. I am so sorry to hear about Bill’s passing. Bill was a school mate of mine and an all around great guy. Prayers of Comfort & Peace. 💫 🕊️

Bill was a very bright, funny and kind gentleman.  I was in school with him from First Baptist kindergarten until he went to TMI.  He will always be a part of our Class of 1973 and a Clinton Dragon.

I am saddened to learn of his passing, but "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."   Bill is healthy and happy now - just like in the wonderful picture of him on the boat!      

May God Bless you, his family and friends that he loved dearly, in the coming days.

I only knew Bill for the short time of 1971 to about 1975 but I recall his outspoken and impressionable disregard for authority, and the insights he would express regarding life in general.. He didn't hold anything back to my recollection, and in hindsight, these outspoken energies were some of Bill's greatest strengths.  (My words are complimentary)

Bill had eclectic tastes in music, and as a young musician, I was privileged to learn about some great bands because of the discoveries he would share with me.

He was a talented "free-spirit" for certain!
