She was a graduate of Hiwassee College, and Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned her Masters’ in Education. After 42 years of teaching, she retired to enjoy her arts and crafts, and was an active member of Burks United Methodist Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Walter Daniel and Eva Hawkins Cowart, several sisters, and one brother. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Mitchem, and second husband, Bill Webb.
The family requests memorials be made to Burks United Methodist Church, and Hearth Hospice.
