He was born in Etowah, Tennessee to the late L. J. and Roxie Truelove. Vernon served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Vernon received his Degree from the Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta. He was the owner and operator of Hixson Drug Center for many years before retiring and then working for CVS. Vernon attended Stuart Heights Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by two siblings, Betty Freeman and Dewey Truelove.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Ferguson Truelove; sons, Steve (Laura) Truelove and Jeff (Shelda) Truelove; grandchildren, Rachel, Adam, and Olivia Truelove; siblings Virgil and R.C. Truelove and Frances Fijal; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm (noon) until 1:30 pm on Monday, November 27, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 2 pm on Monday, November 27, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
