Verna E. Anderson

Verna was a dedicated and long-serving employee at Floyd’s Hardware, Hixson Hardware, and Lowe’s... and helped many of Chattanooga residents along the way. Among her cherished activities, she enjoyed time bowling with her Husband at the Holiday Bowl Hixson in several leagues, Cheering on the the Braves or giving you the latest scoop on her favorite Soap Opera. However, Her heart was happiest when gathered around the table or cooking in the kitchen with her family during the holidays. She was a member of Grace United Methodist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis L Elsea and Eunice Jordan Elsea, her loving husband Homer David "Andy" Anderson, and her son-in-law Hobert Sweatman. Verna is survived by her cherished children: Donna Sweatman of North Carolina, Debbie (Craig) Rogers of Hixson, Diana (Ron) McCahill of Hixson, and Delores (Quintin) Thompson of Alabama. Her legacy lives on through several adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May her memory forever remain in our hearts and our love never forget.

Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family in paying their respects on Saturday, August 12th, from 2 to 3 pm, at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hwy 153. A graveside service for Verna will take place at 3:00 pm on the same day, officiated by Reverend Anna Golladay, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Her memory will forever be cherished.
