Tim, I wish I had one more day to tell you how special you were.  I wish we could have one more Lamb and fresh Asperagus dinner to cook together in the Spring, with of course a good bottle of wine.  Just one more Octoberfest.  One more great conversation, certainly a friendly political argument, one more great movie, one more laugh, one more cry.  What a friend.   I don't much remember life when you weren't there.  I will miss knowing I had a true lifetime friend who unconditionally loved me without a doubt, who knew I loved him the very same way.  I will never forget you Tim Roberts.  I will miss you always.    Jane

Tim and I have been best friends since childhood. We grew up together in the same neighborhood. We both have said that we would not change a thing about our childhoods. One of our favorite things to do was to recall the great memories that we had growing up. I will miss the daily talks we had about Tennessee sports, religion, politics, life and getting together to watch Tennessee football games. 

Even with bad knees that keep him from getting out very much, Tim always had a positive attitude about life. His family, friends, and I will miss Tim very much. 

Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss.  Timothy was an elementary school classmate at Rivermont.  He was 7 days older than me, and we were both full of red hair ( although his was shinier than mine!) Nice Guy. I am so very sorry.

My family was fortunate to live next door to the Roberts family, and Tim and I were very close childhood friends.  My Mom used to say that Tim, David Valentine and I seemed inseparable for many years.  My memories of Tim are his smile, his athletic ability, a consistently positive and fun attitude, and genuine friendship.  Tim, David and I renewed our relationship when I returned to Chattanooga 10 years ago, and I will forever be thankful to have done so.

Dear Anne, Terry and Kitty,

I share your grief over Tim. He and I have not been in contact for a number of years, except through our mutual friend David Valentine. I last spoke to Tim a few years ago during a UT football game when Tim was watching the game with his friend.

Tim was one of the first friends I made when my family moved to Stuart Heights in 1968. The Roberts' home was always open and always welcoming. We shared many sleepovers, french toast breakfasts and late night pizzas at your house. Your mom was a second mother to me.

Trips to the grocery store with your mom and Tim always brought comments about us being red headed brothers. I was with him during his many pickup football game injuries. He was a force to be reckoned with on the football field. I have many great memories of the times we visited each other in Ashville and Chattanooga when we were younger and didn't have as many responsibilties that growing up brings. I relived many childhood memories when my brother bought your family home following your mom's passing. 

I will miss Tim greatly. His humor, his smile and his endless knowledge of statistics about any sports team I could name will always  be with me. We had a lot of discussions about God and the world after this one, and I have assurance that Tim will be in Heaven when I get there someday.

I have been praying for you to have strength at this time and I thank God that I had the opportunity to know Tim and each of you as a result of our friendship. May God bless you and keep you safe for the rest of your days.  

I am living in New Hampshire now with my family, and will not be able to make the funeral in person. Please know that I will be there in spirit on Friday.
