Sue was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church. She served in preschool programs both at Red Bank Baptist Church and Rivermont Presbyterian Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sallie and James Herman Thompson; sisters, Lucille McClure, Ruby Morgan and Pauline Simmons; brothers, Raymond, Frank and Joe Thompson.
Sue is survived by her sons, Brian (Rhonda) Locke of Hixson and Michael (Kelly) Locke of Red Bank; three grandchildren, Hannah Locke, Heath Locke and Alex Locke; one sister, Annie Lee Mansfield of Nashville, TN; one brother, Wayne Thompson of Fayetteville, TN.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.
A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bill Harvey officiating.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
