Mr. Baker was born in Pineville, Kentucky, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College, and retired after a career in construction with the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was a member of White Oak Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife to whom he was devoted for 41 years, Molly Baker; parents, Sidney Baker and Ruby Baker; daughter Vickie Curry.
He is survived by daughter Melissa Moore of Harlan, Ky, sons David (Kay) Baker of Chattanooga, and Steven Baker of Hixson; grandchildren Jason Moore of Commerce, Ga., Bethany (Bryan) Key of Harlan, Ky., Caroline Baker and Dave Baker of Chattanooga; great grandson Wyatt Key, Harlan, Ky.; brother George (Jewell) Baker of Garner, NC.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, June 8, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel from 12-1 Friday.
