Sandra was born in Chattanooga and worked in retail for many years at Dixie Yarn and Proffits. She was a beautician and worked with several florist where she had a talent for floral arranging. Sandra was a longtime member with Covenant Baptist Church North Red Bank. She and her husband were very gifted musicians. They sang at many local churches, Hardees, Lake Winniepesaukah Amusement, Country Tonight, The Convention Centers in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and the Georgia Convention Center, just to name a few. Sandra loved Christmas and enjoyed instilling the real meaning of Christmas to her friends, family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Thelma Harvey; sister, Mary Brown and brother, Terry Harvey.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ralph Ramsey; sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Janet Ramsey and Gary and Evelyn Ramsey; grandchildren Mandy (Nolan) Wiram, Mark (Jessica) Ramsey, Vanessa Ramsey and Serena Brown; 8 great grandchildren, brothers, Frank (Jane) Harvey and Ron (Sandra) Harvey; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Monday and 12 to 1 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Sandra’s life will follow at 1 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel with her Pastor Gladden Coe officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
