Mr. Robert Samuel Lynes Sr.

Robert Samuel Lynes Sr., 78, born in Harriman, TN; raised in Chattanooga, TN, passed away Thursday October 7, 2010 in his home.

Mr. Lynes owned several local businesses, including Hixson Marina, Chattanooga Rental, Sequoyah Equipment Company, Rental Properties around Chattanooga and Real Estate. He was a graduate of Central High School and was a member of Burk’s United Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Lynes is recognized as a brother mason of the Grande Loge Nationale Francaise and a current member of the East Lake Lodge No. 698. On October 10, 2002 Robert Lynes received his private pilot helicopter license. He was a member of the Aircraft-Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA).

Mr. Lynes was preceded in death by his parents Foster Samuel Lynes, Ruth Lynes; and brother, Freling Lynes.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Paulette Marie Lynes; Daughters: Leslie (Howard) Everhart and Robin (Tharrel) Kast; Sons: Robert and Shannon Lynes; Sister Judy (Jack) Arnold; Grandchildren: Emily and Christian Everhart and Clayton and Shelby Kast; Sister-in-law and Niece Ruth and Heather Lynes.

A private graveside service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery officiating will be son-in-law, Howard Everhart.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the North Chapel.
