Robert “Bob” Davenport Lane, 87, of Soddy Daisy, passed away October 9, 2017. He was a member and deacon of Morris Hill Baptist Church. Bob worked at Combustion Engineering for over thirty years. He enjoyed woodworking and was a handyman that could do just about anything. Bob was a UT Vols fan and an Atlanta Braves fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dolph and Anna Lane; daughter, Pam Lane Markum and sister, Boots Crawley. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Zelphia Lane; son, Gary Lane (Judie Stacy); grandchildren, Morgan Lane, Courtney (Clay) Hendon, Mary Beth (Luke) Scott, Kristen (Michael) Quarles and Tim Markum; 6 great-grandchildren; friend, Bob Wilson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6221 Shallowford Rd #102, Chattanooga, TN 37421. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 2 pm to 3 pm prior to the memorial service. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 3 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Bill Mason officiating.
