Robert (Bob) C. Day

Bob was the son of the late Robert C. and Mary Coyle Day. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and served our country during the Korean War in the United States Navy. Bob retired from U. S. Pipe as Regional Sales manager with over 27 years of service. He owned and operated Bob Day Sales, a Plumbing Industries Supply Company. Bob was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Day Cunningham.

Bob is survived by immediate area cousins, Rosemary and K. C. Carswell, Patrick Downs, Christopher Downs, Margaret and Dino Maonis, Gary and Alice Garrigus, Mark Garrigus, John and Lynn Burrow, Tim and Marsha Ortmeir, and niece, Frances Shackleford. Among Bob’s closest friends he is also survived by Jeanne B. Owens, Johnny Owens, Jr., David Rye, and his caregivers at Preferred Care At Home.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm on Wednesday, December 2, followed with a Rosary Service at 4, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Mass of Celebration will be held at 1 pm on Thursday at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415 with Father Charlie Burton officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Notre Dame High School, 2701 Vermont Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404.
