Ray was born in Annapolis, Md., on Oct. 17, 1944. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a brick layer in Annapolis and retired from Invista (at Dupont) in Chattanooga.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Pat” Jones; daughter, Kim Hamill (Jerry); son, Michael Jones (Monica); grandchildren, Jeffery, Nikki, Shelby, and Stacey; brother, Bennett Purdy (Barbara); sisters, Lillian Schmidt and Sue Hayes;and several nephews and nieces and extended family.
The family will have a private family gathering at a later date.
Special thanks to the ICU doctors and staff at Memorial Northpark for their loving care of Ray. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to McKamey Animal Center in Ray’s honor.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
