Ralph Edward Mannis, Sr., 61, of Kathleen, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 in a Macon, Georgia hospital. A native of Chattanooga, he has been a resident of Kathleen for the past 15 years and was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, Charleston (SC) Air Force Base and was also retired Civil Service employee from Robins AFB. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Banther. Survivors include his wife, Holly Mannis; two sons and their wives, Ralph (Tassy) Mannis, Jr., Clemson, SC and Christopher (Jessica) Mannis, Goose Creek, SC; three grandchildren, Nina, Logan and Kayla; father, Marion Banther, Harrison, TN; two brothers, Johnny (Teresa) Johnson, Ooltewah, TN and Myron (Elaine) Banther, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral Home chapel. Interment with full military honors will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
