Nell Smith Brown

She was born in Brayton, Tennessee to the late Ralph and Etta Gadd Smith. Nell attended Bledsoe County Schools and was a 1950 graduate of Bledsoe County High School. She was retried from Dupont after 42 years. Nell attended Rechoboth Baptist Church. She was a member of the Alhambra Ladies Shrine and was very active in the Helping Hands.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Ricky "Rick" G. Brown; her siblings, Nola Cox, Carl Smith, Andy Smith, and Vera McClure.

Nell is survived by a grandson, Robert “Bobby” Brown and great grandson, Erik Brown; sister, Monteen Smith; nieces, Harriett Mabry (Jenks) Parker, Konnie (Buz) Smithers, and Judy May Stiles; great niece, Leslye May.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, July 27, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Nell’s life will follow at 2 pm on Saturday at the North Chapel with Pastor Alan Stewart officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
