Born to the late Charlie and Eva Nix. She was a 1949 graduate of Chattanooga High School. Charlene retired from Brock Candy Company with over 42 years of service. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Connie was very active in her children’s schools and PTA. She was also actively involved in the Forgotten Child Fund.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny V. Wright, who founded the Forgotten Child Fund, which continues today, providing Christmas presents, for the needy children of the Chattanooga area. She was also preceded in death by a son, Baby Wright.
Connie is survived by her children, Vickey E. (Jim) Cooke, and Johnny DeWayne Wright; grandchildren, Zan Wright, John Wright, Chris (Jennifer) Cooke, and Chad (Ashley) Cooke; great grandchildren, Aiden and Hannah Cooke, Gavyn Oakes, Bella and Jeremiah Cooke.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until 12 (noon) on Monday, February 8th, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 12 (noon) on Monday, at the North Chapel with Dr. Tony Wilson officiating. Burial will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
