She was a native and life-long resident of the Chattanooga area. She worked as the bookkeeper at Chattanooga High School and ran the book store. Mrs. Born was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club, and the Hosta Society, and she was a charter member of the Evening Garden Club, 1956-2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora Jordan Wiggins, John Wesley Wiggins; sister Elizabeth Wiggins Wells, brother Joe M. Wiggins, husband Stanley G. Born, and son John Stanley Born. She is survived by her sister Mary Wiggins Ruddle, her two daughters, Deborah Ann Born (Denny) Standifer, Hixson, and Sandra Kay Born (Ray) Smith, College Station, Texas, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. with a visitation prior to the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday the 14th at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 on Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
